Frequently Asked Questions

Is your honey raw?

Yes, we harvest our honey with minimal processing to preserve its natural flavor and character.

What is raw honey?

Raw honey is honey that has been minimally strained without being heavily heated for pasteurization or is highly processed. This allows for the honey to maintain its natural enzymes and character

Do you filter your honey?

We use a fine mesh strainer to remove small bee debris, but we do not use a ultra-fine filter to remove pollen.

Why did my honey crystallize?

Nature’s way of showing your honey is pure and unprocessed. Simply enjoy the unique texture or gently warm your Coon Den Apiary jar to return it to a liquid gold state.

Where are your bees located?

Our bees are located throughout northern Sussex and southern Kent counties in Delaware.

Why do honeys taste different?

Each batch reflects the unique flowers our bees visit. Flavor and color vary naturally depending on which local nectar is in bloom during that specific harvest.
